The basement of Harbor House was renovated to house a new Youth Center. In the fall of 2003 it opened as the Hangout Café welcoming all 6th-12th grade students.  In 2007 renovations took place again for kids 5th - 8th grade.  Honoring the Red Sox the Hangout Cafe' has been renamed to the "DUG OUT".

Fees: Thanks to continued funding supprt from the towns of Southwest Harbor and Tremont the Youth Center and Hangout Café is now FREE to all participants. Certain activities may have a small fee to cover transportation, etc.

The Youth Center also coordinates activities with other community organizations on Mount Desert Island.
