Everybody Is Welcome At Our House
Harbor House is a community house. We pull together to serve young, old and in-between -- and we take pride and draw sustenance from our solidarity and commitment to bringing the joys of Mount Desert Island summer life to everyone.

Every Harbor House program and activity springs from our common ideas, ideals and individual contributions. Boys and girls, young and old, Harbor House welcomes all.

With six key program areas and a roster of more than 60 health, fitness, educational, sports, community-based and youth-focused classes and activities, Harbor House serves every age group and every economic level -- and, has done so for forty-two years and counting.

For those who would love to participate in a program but simply can't afford it, we offer Helping Hand Fellowships. Our goal is to offer help to everyone that needs a helping hand to the best of our ability to do so. No one is ever turned away at Harbor House, and we would not be able to deliver on this simple, yet firmly held mission without the community's abiding commitment to what we stand for and what we do.

About Camp Harbor House
Located as it is in the center of beautiful, rugged and magical Mount Desert Island, Harbor House offers a unique summer experience for all children. Its closeness to beaches, natural maritime wildlife, flora, fauna and all manner of land creatures makes it a natural for broadening young horizons and challenging stamina.

Summer at Harbor House for Everyone

Harbor House Flamingo Festival: July 18-21, 2008 A four day all out celebration of community. This fun filled family festival truly has something for everyone. Events include a childrens carnival, craft fair and of course, the Grand Pink Flamingo Parade on Saturday morning that must be seen to be believed. The weekend ends with the infamous Polo & Yacht Club cocktail party at the Causeway Club Barn.

Lobsters on the Sound August 6,2008

This elegant annual fundraiser for Harbor House is a must for anyone who loves our Island community and lobsters, friendship and sipping cocktails while the sun sets over Somes Sound. An Art and Travel auction will also be part of this event.
