Harbor House has many events scheduled throughout the year for all ages. Below is a listing by month of our yearly favorites, but we do add special ones at times, so please continue to check this page and our calendar for updates. JANUARY - MARCH Island Dining Program - If you need a cabin fever reliever, join the friends and supporters of Harbor House for fun filled and delicious gourmet evenings dining at specially selected Island restaurants. Participating restaurants have included Red Sky, McKay's Public House, the Westside Grill and Fiddler's Green. MARCH 13-15 - The Great Harbor Shootout - This is a basketball tournament sponsored by Harbor House for boys and girls in Junior High and High School that takes place on Mount Desert Island. Over 60 teams participate yearly in this fun event representing the entire State of Maine. MAY

JUNE 22 - Tremont Trot - This four-mile race takes place on the "Quietside" of beautiful Mount Desert Island and is a fundraiser for Harbor House. The race is part of the Eden Athletics Jack Russell's Steakhouse Points series, it is open to all Male and Female runners 13 years of age and up. Check in time begins at 7:00 am at the Tremont School and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Seawall Picnic Area. Download a Registration Form.

6 - Lobsters on the Sound - If you would like to attend this fundraiser for Harbor House you will find yourself sipping cocktails at a beautiful location overlooking Somes Sound and enjoying a delicious Lobster dinner with many other friends and supporters of Harbor House. Tickets are $100.00 per person. Sponsorship tables are also available. Please call Diana or Margy at Harbor House for more details. SEPTEMBER 13 - BRENNAN LOWE MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT - Every year Harbor House hosts this golf tournament where all proceeds benefit the Brennan Lowe Scholarship fund for the Youth Sports Programs. OCTOBER 12 - Chili at the Finish of the MDI Marathon - Join us at the finish line in front of Harbor House to cheer the runners as they cross the finish line. And, while you are there, enjoy a bowl of delicious homemade chili! NOVEMBER 29 - Holiday Craft Fair - Get into the holiday spirit and come to Harbor House the Saturday after Thanksgiving to get a head start on your Christmas shopping while browsing the creations of some of our Island's finest crafters. DECEMBER 5 - Christmas Celebration in Southwest Harbor - Santa Claus comes to Town! On the first Friday in December join us as we celebrate Christmas with the Town of Southwest Harbor and area businesses. The evening begins with the lighting of the Town's Christmas tree followed by a bonfire and tractor rides starting at the Post Office parking area. There will be refreshments provided and a special visit from Santa! Children will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa upstairs at the Harbor House. Stick around town for special business hours to kick off your holiday shopping. |

25 - Westside Ride - Join many other biking enthusiasts for a very scenic 26 mile Pro Ride bike race or the new 10 mile Easy Rider around the Western side of Mt. Desert Island. Race proceeds benefit the Harbor House Sports Programs. View the 
Registration is $15.00 on or before June 18th and $20.00 the day of the race. You can pre-register by sending registration along with cash or check made payable to: Harbor House Community Center P.O Box 836 Southwest Harbor, Maine, 04679, or by singing up at the Harbor House Monday thru Friday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. There is also a 1 Mile Fun Run that is open to kids 12 and under. There is no charge for this race and it takes place immediately following the 4 Mile Trot. 
18-21 - Harbor House Flamingo Festival Every year Harbor House holds this fun filled family festival that truly has something for everyone.This years theme is the Wild West and events include a kids carnival, craft fair, Poker Night for the Adults and the Dude Ranch Dance with Midnight Rose and of course the Grand Flamingo Parade on Saturday morning that you must truly see to believe. Sunday attend the infamous Polo & Yacht Club cocktail party at the Causeway Club Barn. The festival ends with a concert on Monday July21st by Flash in the Pans Steel Drum Band.
